Committee I DPD RI: Single Identity System Must Be Immediately Realized

Jakarta, dpd.go.id - Committee I DPD RI emphasized the government to as soon as possible unite data to a single identity using information systems and integrated technology. This was revealed at the Hearing Meeting of the Committee I with the Director General of Population and Civil Registry (DUKCAPIL) Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri), Zudan Arif in the Meeting Room of Committee I DPD RI, Parliament Complex Senayan Jakarta, Wednesday (31/1) .

The meeting chaired by the Chairman of Committee I DPD RI, Akhmad Muqowam discussed the many problems regarding the number of population data conducted by various different agencies.

According to Muqowan, the use of information technology systems in accelerating the implementation of single identity recording must be done by Kemendagri in this case through DUKCAPIL as executor. This is crucial because Indonesia is in the momentum of political year 2018-2019.

"The number of residents owning and recording an electronic ID card will affect the number of permanent voters list (DPT) to be used as reference by the Election Commission (KPU) in Regional Election (Pilkada), Governor Election (Pileg) and President Election (Pilpres). Therefore, there should not be found any data differ between population and number of DPT, because there are still different amounts of data from DUKCAPIL, BPS and KPU, " said Muqowam.

Director General of Dukcapil, Zudan Arif revealed that there are some obstacles in recording ID Card electronics such as geographical condition, low awareness of having e-ID card, and the population which is outside the area making it difficult to manage the data recording, and residents abroad.

"Currently we have made several steps to solve the problem of data recording by picking up the ball through mobile service, creating an integrated service system, and guarantee the availability of ID card that we have counted until 2019," said Zudan Arif.

Utilization of information technology system has been done by Kemendagri by using the Information System Administration of Population (SIAK) in integrating data recording in all regions in Indonesia. DUKCAPIL claims that in the near future a single identity system will soon be realized and ensure the security of the system in maintaining the confidentiality of the data.

"We have done our best to get there, a single identity system to ease the utilization of population data for public services, development planning, budget allocation, democratic development, law enforcement and criminal prevention," he continued.

In response, Muqowam appreciated the steps taken by the Ministry of Home Affairs with the use of Science and Technology (IPTEK) in managing the population administration.

"I appreciate the progress of the use of information technology systems in managing the population administration, I think the direction towards a single identity is getting closer after seeing and listening to the explanation from the Director General of DUKCAPIL so that the confusion of population data becomes clearer if there is only one," he concluded.
