DPD RI Member of DKI Jakarta Congratulates the Victory of Dr. Mahathir Mohamad


Malaysia, dpd.go.id - Malaysia's 14th elections, Wednesday, May 9, 2018. Opposition-led opposition coalition. Mahathir Mohamad controls 135 seats of the People's Council (DPR of Malaysia) from 222 seats spread across 13 States in the Malay Peninsula and northern Borneo Island.

"Incredibly, Dr. Mahathir Mohamad is 92 years old, but able to gain the trust of the people," said Bang Dailami Firdaus.

Indeed Dr. Mahathir Mohamad was once Malaysia's number one man between 1981-2002. As Prime Minister (PM), Dr. Mahathir Mohamad was able to transform Malaysia into one of the "Asian Tigers" and the pride of the Islamic World because of the economic progress and development of its education sector.

"I am very excited about the election of Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, as I think, among Malaysian leaders who can understand Indonesia well, so that the two cognate countries can continue to work together in various fields," continued Dailami who is also a professor and engaged in education .

According to Dailami, political work is an art to unite the various networks of society, and Dr. Mahathir Mohamad exemplifies as long as his ideas are good for society, then age is not a limitation.

Dailami hopes that Indonesia and Malaysia can build strong alliances to make ASEAN and OIC (Organization of Islamic Conference) a regional and international cooperation agency to improve progress for the nation and countries in Southeast Asia and the Muslim World.

"Malaysian leaders who can understand Indonesia's perspective and mind, will facilitate the development of cooperation in various fields such as education, trade and tourism," Dailami Firdaus concluded his statement in the media.
