Characteristics of island provinces with land area is much smaller than the sea area, so in the calculation of the budget is also limited, compared to the province of the land. It should get more attention from the government that is pursuing infrastructure development in developing the region.

"The government should not only focus on the mainland, because the archipelago require a very expensive infrastructure costs in order to catch up. It needs a high political will from the government to work on the archipelago, "said Ahmad.

Meanwhile, NTT Senator Abraham Liyanto explained that, Provinces in the archipelago have tremendous difficulties in terms of public services. Such as the official visit to the district should use aircraft with high cost, not including the cost of accommodation, and others. These costs are much higher than in the mainland provinces, such as in Java and Sumatera.
