The Organs Report Their Development Task on the 8th Plenary Session of DPD RI


Jakarta, dpd.go.id - "Committee I, during this session, is making a series of legislative activity, monitoring of implementation of the legislation as well as a description of DPD RI in the Constitutional Court (MK) RI trial." This is conveyed by Drs. H. Akhmad Muqowam in the 8th Plenary Session of DPD RI in Nusantara Building, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday (9/03/2017)

In terms of legislation, Committee I undertakes the drafting of State Officials Ethic Bill, Review the Government implementation of Islands Region and  the discussion of General Elections Bill in DPR RI with the Government. Supervision of the implementation of Act No. 1 Year 2015 on Determination of Government Regulation in Lieu of Law No. 1 Year 2014 on the Election of Governors, Regents and Mayors Being an Act as amended a second time by Act No. 10 Year 2016 (simultaneous elections); as well as the description of DPD RI on judicial review of Act No. 13 Year 2012 on Yogyakarta Special Region of the 1945 Constitution in the Constitutional Court of Indonesia.

"In the discussion of General Elections Bill, DPD RI proposes the additional of DPD members from 4 (four) to 5 (five) people. In the interest of equal opportunity and equality of prospective members of DPD RI, DPD RI proposes to preparation of DPD rmain candidates serial number will no longer use patterns alphabetically that seemingly taken for granted. Methods with a 'lottery' provide equal opportunities for all candidates to get the same number, whether it is considered a strategic sequence number or unstrategic serial number on the ballot," says Muqowam.

Furthermore, Fahira Idris as Vice Chairwoman of Committee III reports that the future priority Program for Session III Year 2016-2017 is drafting Wage System Bill as an initiative proposal, supervision over the implementation of Act No. 39 Year 2004 on the Placement and Protection of Overseas Labor, supervision of the implementation of the Act No. 35 Year 2009 on Narcotics, and other strategic issues such as fund management and Haj quota, the preparation for the national examination in MTs and MA Year 2017 as well as the potential for socio-religious conflict in Indonesia.

Institutional Capacity Development Committee (BPKK) reminds all elements to promote greater unity to struggle in the structuring of the constitutional system amendment through 1945 Constitution. There are three main missions which should be run, among others to reconstruct the authority of DPD RI through the 1945 Constitution  amendments; to optimize the execution of the functions of legislation, oversight, and budgeting within their authority established by the 1945 Constitution and the Law; and to strengthen the implementation capacity of the representation functions that include shelter and follow up of regional aspirations and complaints from the public as well as to increase public understanding of DPD institution in the framework of public accountability. "Recalling the four members of DPD Ri to sign the proposed amendment," asks Intsiawati Ayus, Vice Chairwoman BPKK in its report.

Rev. Carles Simaremare, member of Committee for Parliamentary Cooperation (BKSP) reports the participation of DPD RI on the 25 Meeting of The Asia Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APFF) in Natadola, Republic of Fiji with the theme of Parliamentary Partnerships Parliament Peace And Security: SDG 16 "or partnership of Parliamentary Partnerships DPR Peace And Security: SDG 16”. In addition, DPD RI delegation also held bilateral meetings with the five parliamentary of APPF participants in 2017, namely the Council of State of Malaysia DNM, the Parliament Federated States Of Micronesia (FSM), the Parliament of Vietnamese, the Parliament of Thailand, and the delegation of the Joint Senat-House of Mexico. The meeting has produced 21 resolutions, proposed amendments of Rules Official Procedure APPF to enter a meeting of women parliamentarians in every annual meeting of the APPF and to determine the Vietnamese Parliament as the host of the APPF in 2018.

The 8th Plenary Session DPD RI is the Closing of Session III Year 2016-2017. Furthermore, members of DPD RI conducts a working visit to each constituency starting on March 10 to April 9, 2017 to absorb and accommodate the aspirations of the people and the region. (Ank)
