This, said Komigi, triggered a demonstration that led to riots in Manokwari, West Papua, Monday (19/8).

"The incident of insulting Papuan students in East Java resulted in a strong reaction from residents in the Land of Papua. We ask the government to respond to this incident," Komigi stressed.

Therefore, he asked the Ministry of the Home Affairs to form a Fact Finding Team on the alleged persecution and racism carried out by unscrupulous members of mass organizations when they came to the Papuan student dormitory in East Java.

In addition, Komigi reminded all children of the nation to uphold cultural values in diversity, so that fellow nation's children could respect each other.

"Advancing a legal approach if there are unscrupulous Papuan students who break the law, and keep racism away, "he stressed.

In addition, Komigi hoped that officials keep words and not make statements that spark people's anger.

On the other hand, he also urged the government to immediately deal with the mass unrest in Papua quickly, so that the atmosphere there could return safe and conducive.
