Workshop on Increasing Legislation, Cooperation between DPD RI with CDI and ANU
The Senator of the Republic of Indonesia in cooperation with the Centre for Democratic Institutions (CDI) and the Australian National University (ANU) Australia will hold a workshop on Increasing Legislation of DPD RI. The event will be held at Hotel Atlet Century Park, Jl.Pintu Satu Senayan, Thursday-Friday 21-22 June.
This workshop takes the case study and the subjects of natural resources also infrastructure and it will be a combination exercise of labor between the members, expert staff, and Secretariat staff. “This Worshop is required to gain know-how technical and technical capacity building of the Secretariat and expert staff to support the work of committee,” said Siti Nurbaya Bakar, Secretary General of the DPD RI.
In the guidelines issued by the CDI, there are some things to be done by staff and members to increase capacity and to build a trustworthy reputation, for the improvement of policies and laws that reflect the regional perspective. Staff should have a better understanding of the role of committee work and by improving professional skills in using the system, so the results will be better in quality. In the meantime, members should be able to use the resources and systems effectively. Members should also be able to promote the role and function to the DPR, the media, as well as their constituents.
The speakers of the workshop are Mr.Hon.Kevin Rozzoli (former Member of New South Wales Parliament, Australia) on Thursday (21/6) and Mrs. Margaret Swieringa (Secretary of the Committee of the House of Representatives, Australian Parliament House) on Friday (22/6). Workshop participants are echelon III and IV of the Secretariat General of the DPD.
