The Reformation of Community Organizations to Restore it’s Identity

Jakarta, dpd.go.id Following the discussion of the Bill on Public Organizations, Committee III of DPD RI held a Public Hearing Meeting (18/01/2012) to obtain the views of the experts. Present in that meeting which located in Meeting Room B Building Committee III DPD, the Parliament Complex Senayan was Satya Arinanto, experts in Constitutional Law, Faculty of Law in UI.

Comparing this draft Bill of Public Organizations with the Law No. 8 of 1985 which  is still valid but not effective, Satya assessed there are changes in the direction of progress. “I see a paradigm shift as an effort towards the previous public organizations,” said Satya. “There is some progress from the spirit of reformation and openness, for example in terms of establishment and supervision on public organizations,” he added.

The second expert, Sharif Hidayat also said that the spirit of reformation in regulating the public organizations is necessary in the transition to democracy in our country. “Public Organizations have to go back to the identity and function, not just a saddle horse for the ruling elite, Troja horse for the elite masses, as well as under bow for the political parties. In essence, public organizations must be able to get out of the vortex transition to democracy, “explained this researcher of LIPI. Reverend Rugas Binti supports the independence party of all sorts of interests, especially political parties. According to the DPD RI members from the Province of Central Kalimantan, independent Public Organizations can be more representative of community participation. (af)
