The Decision Results of the 2nd Plenum of the Bill Drafting Committee (PPUU)

Jakarta, dpd.go.id – IN the discussion of the planned activity schedule for the session III of session year 2011-2012, the PPUU DPD RI produced several decisions including determination of membership preparation for working team of law center and MD3, division members and preparation time of the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) and socialization of Law Center in the region, agenda-setting of material inventory of the bill on gender equality to the region, the establishment of FGD in order to do examination and the determination of the reference study preparation.

The trial taking place in Building B DPD RI began with an introduction by the chairman of PPUU, I Wayan Sudirta, and followed by discussion of membership preparation and schedule of Law Center events that led directly by Hairiah (senator from West Kalimantan) on Thursday (26/01/12).

In the discussion of membership for Law Center Working Team, PPUU decided Denti Eka Widi (senator from Central Java) as the coordinator of Working Team I which deal with the Law Center development and the Bill on Gender Equality, and Working Team II will be chaired by Jack Ospara (senator from Maluku) in dealing with the development of the Bill on Community Participation and MD3.

While for the preparatory of FGD for Law Center socialization, the PPUU established three (3) colleges as partner of the PPUU DPD RI, i.e. University of Manokwari in Papua, which will be held from 17 to 19 February 2012, as well as University of Syah Kuala in Banda Aceh and the Maritime University of King Ali Haji in the Riau Islands on 1-3 February.

The PPUU also decided to conduct a study on reference and inventory of materials to the region related to gender equality issue on 18 to 24 February 2012 at the University of Palangkaraya in Central Kalimantan, University of Andalas in West Sumatra and the University of Cendrawasih in Papua.

The session was closed with the appointment of Jack Ospara (senator Maluku) as representative of the Special Committee on Agrarian and determination of activities of legal examination of the central and local relations which will be held on 14-16 March 2012 at the Universities of North Sumatra, Jambi, and North Maluku. “This event is to discuss again the findings of colleges that have been formulated from the research results in the last 2011,” said Wayan who also hoped the university’s findings can be well formulated and becomes significant input to the DPD.
