Padang, dpd.go.id – Padang Fair 2011 was officially opened by Syafrial, Assistant I The government of West Sumatra province, along with Hari Prawoko, Head of the Center for Exports of the Ministry of Commerce, which is marked by the beating drum together, Friday afternoon (11 / 11/11). The event which was held in the parking lot of GOR, H. Agus Salim, Padang, is the result of cooperation between the Government of Padang with Solindo Duta Convex. The Opening of Padang Fair 2011 was lively and was attended by many visitors.

President Director of PT Solindo Duta Convex, Chairul Umaya said that Padang Fair 2011 is not only followed by the Small and Medium Enterprises (UKM) from West Sumatra but also followed by some UKM from other provinces, such as: Surabaya, Yogyakarta, DKI Jakarta and Lampung, also Ministry of Commerce and others.

Padang Fair 2011 Activity was attended by about 200 booths, which consists of 60 large booths, 30 booths cone, 30 booths of UMKM, 50 small booths and 30 other booths. It is planned that the Padang Fair 2011 will be held from 11 to 20 November 2011.

In that event, the House of Regional Representative of the Republic of Indonesia (DPD RI) is taking part in providing a socialization stand to know the DPD members profile and the role also the presence of the DPD RI. In addition, the DPD RI stand also provides stickers and books as the DPD RI products that can be distributed to visitors of Padang Fair 2011.

The majority of the DPD RI Stand visitors were students of the Faculty of Law and students of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences University of Andalas (UNAND). In addition there are also visitors from among the junior and senior high school students who are interested to know about the DPD RI. “DPD RI should have more authority in order to align with the DPR RI, I will invite my friends to plan a visit to the Office of the DPD RI, Senayan, Jakarta to be more familiar with the mechanism of action in the DPD RI” said weny, high school student of SMAN 1 Padang.
