Pekanbaru, dpd.go.id- The representative of the country’s mandate to uphold the The Region’s dignity became the theme of the DPD RI Gallery which is officially opened today (19/11) by DPD members from Riau Province, Intsiawati Ayus and Abdul Gafar Usman. The event will last for 2 days, located in Regional Library Building Hall C Riau on Jl. Jend. Sudirman Pekanbaru Riau.

In her speech, Intsiawati Ayus disclosed that this activity will be enlivened with a variety of contests including Writing and Debate Competition with the theme “Strengthen or Disband the DPD RI” to the level of high school and college students in Riau. Also the competition on colouring caricature of DPD RI in kindergarten levels. This event is expected to attract students and college students as well as to make them familiar with the DPD RI.

Regent of Siak, Syamsuar said that the socialization activity of DPD RI is very important in the introduction of the DPD RI to the community. What is done by members of the DPD RI which always go down to the Regions to absorb the aspirations of the public should be improved in order to maximize equitable development of regional autonomy villages. He continued that the DPD RI Members are expected to fight for the national level regarding issues for the Oil Palm Plantation that has not been balanced in most areas of Riau.

Abdul Gaffar Usman said that the 7-year presence of DPD RI in the state system of Indonesia is still very young, we as the members of DPD RI will introspect on what can be done and fought by the DPD. (Har)
