Community Representatives: Ask Direct Visit from DPD RI

At the session led by Kamaruddin (senator from Southeast Sulawesi), Rusmin Nuryadin, a representative from Tangerang, expressed the desire of citizens in Kunciran and Paku Alam Villages that DPD may have direct visit to the disputed area, “The people really expect a visit there, seeing directly how the people suffer,” asked Rusmin in the Boardroom of BK (Honorary Board), DPD RI, Parliament Complex Senayan, Jakarta, Monday (10/10/2011).

In response, Paul Yohanes (senator from Papua) explained that the visit needs several requirements, including a statement from the headman on the land function before dispute as the land of village; official text of the legal considerations from the Constitutional Court; and the full support from residents in Kunciran and Paku Alam Villages. “After we arrange the foundations, I think we need to summon all the officers there,” explained Paulus, adding the requirements to hold on the existing regulation.

In addition to representatives from Tangerang, Banten, the Session of Task Field III also received representatives from North Maluku who wants a positive response from DPD regarding the regional expansion of South Halmahera, Obi Regency. Community representatives from North Maluku consisting of several headmen and residents also brought a complement document of the expansion plan document in accordance with Government Regulation No. 78 Year 2007 which was presented at the previous meeting.

“We expect this document to be reviewed and please consider a visit in this recess,” explained the team leader of expansion of Obi Regency related to the submission of complement documents in the second meeting.

The expectation was greeted positively by members of Task Field III Committee I DPD RI, “If the requirements are more than 75%, we will do the visit,” said Kamaruddin who also reminded to fulfill the administrative requirements both from the main regency and the province.
