Working Meeting of DPD RI with Minister of Home Affairs and Police
Jakarta, dpd.go.id – THE House of Regional Representatives (DPD RI) re-invited the Minister of Home Affairs, Gamawan Fauzi, and Badroedin Haiti (Operations Assistant of Indonesia Police Chief) in the Working Meeting of Committee I DPD which discussed the continuation of Bill of Social Conflict Handling (PKS ). The meeting was held in the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday (27/09/2011).
According to Gamawan, the Bill of Social Conflict Handling which is a bill proposed by House of Representatives (DPR RI), has not been regulated in a comprehensive manner until now because they are still scattered in several laws and regulations that need to be regulated in separate laws. “For this, the government will explore the articles that become material of the Bill of Social Conflict Handling by involving Minister of Religion, Minister of Finance, Police, Army, National Disaster Management Agency and the Minister of Women Empowerment”, Gamawan explained.
In addition Gamawan also expressed his opinion on some existing problems in the region, among others: the Bill on the privilege of Yogyakarta; regional growth; border between countries; border between the regions; land; e-ID card; recruitment of prospective civil servant (CPNS) in the regions; welfare of the village officers; and the problem of local officials who often leave the task.
Badroedin conveyed his opinion on the Bill of Social Conflict Handling about the need of compatibility between substance regulated in the bill with the related laws that regulate problems of security, defense and government. “In today’s conflicts, Police seek peace with the involvement of relevant agencies, religious leaders, and local community leaders”, said Badroedin. DPD RI hopes the police can better optimize its performance so that the Bill of Social Conflict Handling is not necessary because it will only lead to another new conflict.
