Jakarta, dpd.go.id – FAROUK Muhammad (West Nusa Tenggara) was elected for the second time to become the Chairman of the Public Accountability Committee (PAP) DPD RI on Session Year 2011-2012 at the Plenum of PAP chairman election on Thursday (18/8/2011) at DPD Building, Parliament Complex, Senayan – Jakarta.

The session led by Vice-Chairwoman of the DPD, GKR. Hemas, was hampered due to lack of candidates from the Central Islands group, but finally agreed to bring Andika Hazrumy (Banten) as the representative.

Western Region, represented by Abdul Gafar Usman (Riau) bagged 7 votes, one third of the total amount present. While Farouk managed to obtain the remainder, which are 21 votes.

Farouk hoped with this new leadership structure, last year’s program-related focus group discussions can be managed and run together. “Our success (PAP) is not only determined by the Chairman, but we all work together,” he concluded. (And)
