Jakarta, dpd.go.id- Committee IV of DPD RI resumed the process of fit and proper test for prospective members of Supreme Audit Agency (BPK RI). Todays agenda, Thursday (11/08/2011) is listening to the delivery of the vision and mission of the eight candidates for BPK members, namely: Iskariman Supardjo, Wewe Anggreaningsih, Kunto Endriyono, Jupri Bandang, Imam Solahudin, Emita Wahyu Astami, Fadjar O.P Siahaan, and Eddy Suratman. The session was opened by the vice chairwoman of Committee IV Ella M. Giri Komala (DPD senator from West Java), who emphasizes the importance of this selection process, where the DPR can not elect members of the BPK without the recommendation of the DPD RI.

Of the candidates who follow the selection today, not all have the educational background of the economic / accounting or any experience as an auditor. One of them is Kunto Endriyono. A man who was born in Yogyakarta, June 1^st, 1957 is a retired researcher at the Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration with an educational background in agriculture. He said that he was interested in following the selection as a candidate member of the BPK RI after reading the announcement in a newspaper. “Members of the BPK have the duty and function that is set in legislation, so it is a thing to be learned,” said Kunto about his motivation to follow this selection.

In this selection process, Committee IV of  DPD RI will assess each candidate based on criteria of education, experience, integrity and leadership. Based on these criterias, the DPD RI will set 7 (seven) candidates that are highly recommended as a consideration of all the BPK candidates proposed by the House of Representatives (DPR RI). As per a predetermined schedule, the decision-making considerations for BPK’s member candidates will be conducted during plenary session of the DPD to be held on August 15, 2011.
