Vice Chairman of DPD RI, Laode Ida (Senator from Southeast Sulawesi Province), led the session of Leadership Elections of the Group of DPD in MPR which took place in the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday (18/08/2011). Before the election began, Bambang Soeroso represented the members of the Group of DPD in MPR to handover their work during the session period 2010-2011 and it was expected to be a benchmark for future performance.

Laode assigned 11 people for stewardship in 2011-2012 and selected them directly, namely Bambang Soeroso (Senator from Bengkulu Province) as Chairman, John Pieris (Senator from Maluku Province) as Vice Chairman, Rahmat Shah (Senator from North Sumatera Province), Ella M. Giri Komala (Senator from West Java Province), Abraham Liyanto (Senator from East Nusa Tenggara Province), Wahidin Ismail (Senator from West Papua Province).

It also elected Deputy Secretary Marhany V. P. Pua (Senator from North Sulawesi Province), Abdul Aziz Qahhar Mudzakkar (Senator from South Sulawesi Province), Kamaruddin (Senator from Southeast Sulawesi Province), Wasis Siswoyo (Senator from East Java Province) and Mohammad Sofwat Hadi (Senator from South Kalimantan Province). With the new stewardship the group of DPD RI in MPR RI is expected to have better performance.
