Stand of DPD RI at National Jamboree Exhibition IX Palembang, Got Enthusiasm from the Public
OKI Telukgelam, dpd.go.id – Surprisingly, Stand of House of Regional Representative (DPD) RI in the National Jamboree Exhibition IX in Telukgelam, Ogan Komering Ilir (OKI) Palembang recently opened for three days (2-4/7) received great enthusiasm from the public and participants of National Jamboree.
From the record of visitors in Stand of DPD, there are 676 visitors signed the guest list. Whereas, the stand just opened for three days and will last until July 9, 2011. The number does not include visitors who just looking around without signing the guest list.
Not only adults visited the stand, but also teenagers and children. Even, there was a group of scouts who voiced their aspirations in stand of DPD by reciting poetry “Save the Earth from Drought”. The other participants of National Jamboree wanted to know the existence of DPD RI as a second legislator after the House of Representatives (DPR RI).
The enforcement of the 9th National Jamboree (Jamnas the IX) became an arena for DPD to conduct socialization related to DPD as an institution with its participation in the exhibition at Telukgelam Campgrounds, Ogan Komering Ilir (OKI) South Sumatra, on Saturday. The National Jamboree was opened by the President on July 2, 2011. About 30 scouts from 33 provinces throughout Indonesia joined the event as participants.
Meanwhile, the Exhibition visitors from both participants of National Jamboree and local residents excited to see and recognize their representatives in parliament. They also wanted to know the function, performance and authority in the stand which is designed with dominant colors of red, black and gray. “I know the function and authority of DPD RI after visiting this stand of DPD RI,” said Soares, Papuan, who visited the stand of DPD RI in block A.
The stand of DPD also displayed a scenario of certain bill discussion process, Scenario Mechanism Considerations of State Budget (APBN) Bill by the DPD RI to the House of Representatives (DPR RI) and the discussion and determination of the State Budget Bill; furthermore, it also posted photos of Chairmen and Senators of the DPD period 2009-2014.
To attract visitors, the secretariat general of the DPD also showed short films of the DPD RI production such as “Towards the 1945 Amendment” and “the Joint Session of DPR-DPD in Year 2010 “and other interesting documentaries. In addition, visitors were given the opportunity to access the dpd.go.id website.
The exhibition also became an arena for the DPD RI to show the work results of the DPD RI that was made in the form of books collection produced by the DPD such as results of DPD RI decisions and the implementation of the Constitutional of DPD RI, magazines and audiovisual recordings documentation. Whereas many recording tracks of the senators of the DPD performance can also be seen in the banner photo of DPD activity.
Mardayepi, high school teachers of SMAN 2 Lumbuk Lingau, Sumbagsel, said senators of the DPD RI should pay more attention to the communities in the region. “Must do a lot of socialization to the community, because the DPD has been less in making a breakthrough, the voice is not heard,” said State’s Citizenship Education teacher. She hoped senators of the DPD RI should be more active in approaching the institutions toward the community.
Meanwhile, according to Nurdiani, Teacher of SDN 58 Lubuk Lingau, Sumbagsel, assessing the presence of DPD RI in the stand at Jamnas is very important because it can provide information needed by the public in the Jamnas event. According to Nurdiani, the DPD should often present also in any exhibitions in the region “This is one effective way approaching DPD toward the community,” she said. (Candra / Harris)
