RDPU PPUU: Be Careful in Formulating the Law of Public Participation

Jakarta.dpd.go.id – Prudence and deliberation to formulate the Law of Public Participation become the main points of discussions between members of PPUU DPD RI with the guest speakers at the public hearing meeting (RDPU) in Parliament Complex Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday (14/07/11).

In his presentation, Aminoto (Lecturer of UGM) described there are many forms of public participation that are regulated and set forth in the Act or regulations. But if the bill is still to be realized, he warned, “Please ensure the harmonization with the existing Law.”

According to Himawan Estu Bagijo (Chairman of the Association of State Structure Teachers and the Administration Law of East Java Province), when choosing a law, the form of a regulation is the legislation and there will be a form of prohibition that led to sanctions. Therefore, “we better carefully simulate every legal norm that become our choice,” said Himawan briefly.

No difference with other experts, Indra Perwira (Lecturer UNPAD of West Java) presented obstacles to be considered. Among the barriers are time, funds and the diverse culture of Indonesia also other technical constraints.

For the future, I Wayan Sudirta Chairman of PPUU hoped to establish good and sustainable communication with the experts to help give input in the process of formulating the draft of Public Participation.
