Monitoring results of DPD on Population Administration (Adminduk) Law

Jakarta, dpd.go.id – Related to DPD oversight functions on Law Number 23 of 2006 about Population Administration (Adminduk) Law, Member of Committee I of DPD reported the results of working visit to the province of East Java in the Hearing of working visit team Committee I in Honorary Board (BK) Meeting Room, Parliament Complex Senayan, Jakarta, Monday (11/07/11).

Some main conclusions of the working visit of Committee I on July 4 to 8 were then reported in the meeting. Among the discussions were about revamping the government’s plans on Population Administration System (SIAK) through the Population Identification Number (NIK) and the implementation of e-ID card (e-KTP) or an electronic ID card (KTP) which is targeted for completion in late 2012.

In the report, the Committee I DPD has found that the implementation of the DPD revamping the Population Administration System is not optimal, “from the 38 Districts in the city of Surabaya, only 16 Districts are able to implement the Population Identification Number,” explained Alirman Sori (Senator from West Sumatera).

According to Alirman, it was influenced by the inadequacy of infrastructure and superstructure.

While Sri Kadarwati (Senator from West Kalimantan) reported that some classical problems were found in Sidoarjo, such as budget issues, equipments, and electrical facilities that greatly affect the performance of officers.
