Makassar, dpd.go.id – House of Regional Representatives (DPD) develops a vehicle of education and entertainment (edutainment) of Indonesian parliament in Kids Zone, Makassar, South Sulawesi, as a form of partisanship and concern towards education for 4-16 years-old children.

A miniature of Indonesia’s parliament building similar to the Senayan Complex, Jakarta, locates on the third floor of Mall Graha Tata Cemerlang (GTC Mall) Tanjung Bunga, Makassar.

According to Head of Data and Information, General Secretariat of DPD Syiaruddin, the participation of DPD in developing edutainment vehicle of Indonesian parliament is one task of the General Secretariat of DPD to provide political education for the Indonesian younger generation.

“In Kids Zone, they are invited to play as a member of the Board,” he said in Kids Zone, Makassar, on Monday (18 / 7). “Not just visiting rides, children can practice like a senator of Indonesia through simulations in the courtroom / meeting room of DPD,” added Syiaruddin. The plan is the spacecraft will be launched on 21 June 2011 by the Chairman of DPD Irman Gusman accompanied by General Secretary (Sesjen) of DPD, Siti Nurbaya Bakar.

He emphasized, one of the General Secretariat of DPD tasks in the field of public education is to introduce the Indonesian parliament, in particular the presence of DPD, to the younger generation. Not only the symbols of the Indonesian parliament, but the rides also displayed miniatures of courtrooms / meeting rooms, the explaination of the legislation process, and the simulated elections.
