Novel Matindas, the representation of PGI, revealed problems with the use of special autonomy funds which are less transparent and unprecise target in the allocation of these funds. In addition, there are human rights violations committed by law enforcement. “Supposedly, after the implementation of the special autonomy in Papua has been running these human rights violations should have been reduced and emphasized more to do economic development, education or health,” he explained. It is also unfortunate with the issue of HIV AIDS in Papua, which still occupies the highest rank. According to the information received, the highest distribution area was found in Freeport, as modern mining area.
In agreement with Novel, Karseno, representing Papua desk team, added the problems such as regional expansion; bad security that occurs at the top of Jaya and Timika; as well as problems in the Papuan People’s Assembly (MRP) that if it was not formed will affect issues such as electoral politics.

Many of the forests and land in Papua has been dominated by companies and foreigners so that many native people of Papua do not own land, said Danny Sanusi from KWI. While Maria Ratnaningsih also added that related to flow of funds for the people of Papua, which according to her only a few are allocated to the advancement of education, health and regional expansion. “Where Are We? why is this still continued today? “she said.
Luther Kombong (DPD Senator of East Kalimantan), representing the DPD RI explained that the current incidents in Papua is not entirely the fault of central government. There are some problems that did arise due to local regulations. All are hoping that the results of this RDPU can be input and solutions to problems in Papua.
