“UN (National Examination) is very urgent to be discussed, which evidently is a project of moral destruction of the nation’s generation, one of the evidences is Afi Alifa (a primary school student in Surabaya), according to the National Education Law UN is not a determinant of students’ graduation,” said La Ode Ida in Press Conference of DPD, Senayan, Jakarta Thursday (16/06/11). “We, DPD RI, consider that the DPD should no longer to be continued, it must be stopped, if it is still carried out there will be a process of moral destruction of generation and education providers”, he added.

Ester (Kompas) asked about the attitude of DPD RI which urges the Government to stop the UN, “What step to pass the pressure of DPD towards Government to stop the UN?” asked Ester.

Responding to Ester’s question, Istibsyaroh (Chairman of Committee III DPD) stated “We have often communicated to the Government, to the Minister of National Education but failed, then we have told the government, and the minister has already known, President should stop and we have fought,” he said. “We will talk directly with the Minister of National Education and the President in the coordination meeting, we will still converse because there is no more reason to take the national examination,” added the Vice Chairman of DPD RI.

DPD recommended to the Government to do the following:

1. Call on the Government to implement the recommendations of oversight of DPD RI No. 24/DPD RI/III/2009-2010 about the implementation of Law No.20 Year 2003 on National Education System associated with the Implementation of the National Examination School Year 2009/2010.
2. Stop the UN as a tool of the final evaluation of students learning outcomes. Final evaluation of students learning outcomes is given back school as mandated by Article 58 Verse (1) Law No.20 Year 2003 on National Education System (UU Sisdiknas).
3. Make an education mapping through research or scientific survey that can be accounted for validity without burdened by passing and not passing and promising help.
4. Follow up on all forms of fraud and the provision in the UN, including budget aberrations through the handling of legal and administrative measures.
