The Plan of Visit to the State Border Region
Regarding many problems at the border such as the border community who learns and schools in other countries, as well as the stakes border issue which was moved, a member of the Special Committee (Pansus) of State Border of the House of Regional Representatives of Republic of Indonesia (DPD RI) held the 9th plenum in BK Meeting Room on the 3rd Floor, Building B DPD RI, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday (03/03/11).
The session, led by committee Chairman F. Ferry Border X. Tinggogoy (Senator from North Sulawesi), discussed three (3) agendas which are the Continued Discussion of the Plan of Working Visits and Meetings / Conferences in the area of the State Border; the Discussion Regarding Financing and Working Meetings / Conferences in the area of the State Border; and the Introduction of Special Committee Expert Staff of State Border DPD RI.
Defined in the session, the schedule and route of working visit to 6 (six) provinces which are Kalimantan, Papua, Maluku, East Nusa Tenggara, North Sulawesi and Riau Islands will begin on March 16, after the plenary session.
At any departure, 2 (two) teams will depart at once which are Riau Islands with Kalimantan, East Nusa Tenggara with Maluku, while for Papua and Sulawesi are set off on their own. “The schedule will be revised but that is the principle,” said Ferry.
The plenum also produced some inputs from Chandra Motik (expert staff of Pansus), among others, the name of 12 (twelve) troubled island on the border of Rondo Island, Berhala Island, Nipa Island, Sekatung Island, Sebatik Island, Marore Island, Miangas Island, Fani Island, Fanildo Island, Asutubun Island, Wetar Island, Timor Tengah Island.
She also requested the support of the Senator to give the results of research visits to each region, considering the time for making the book only 3 (three) months.
Before closing the session, the Chairman, F. Ferry Tiggogoy (Senator from North Sulawesi) expressed his desire, “the concept of how poverty and ignorance should be raised so that borders of secluded country could get equal treatment with the other republics.”
