DPD and KY Agreed to Conduct Political Education
The House of Regional Representatives (DPD) and the Judicial Commission (KY) agreed to conduct political education through interaction between two state agencies and elements of society, especially the intensive monitoring of the judicial authorities. The goal is to manifest the judicial authority which is honest, clean, transparent, and professional as well as judicial authority that is effective, efficient, open and trustworthy.
Furthermore, DPD and KY agreed to conduct the study as materials that enrich the material paragraph, chapter, and / or part of constitutional chapter in amendment draft of the Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia Year 1945 which is being done by Group of DPD in MPR. The study is also related to the functions, duties and authority of the DPD As well as the functions, duties, and authority of KY such as do the supervision on the judges that adjudicate the case which being highlighted by Public, including Law Enforcement officials.
“DPD and KY will make a memorandum of understanding,” said Chairman of DPD Irman Gusman that agreed by Chairman of KY Eman Suparman in the Meeting Room of the Leadership of DPD on the 8th floor, Nusantara III Building, Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Wednesday (2/2). Irman accompanied by the Vice Chairwoman of DPD Gusti Kanjeng Ratu Hemas and Secretary General of the DPD Siti Nurbaya. While Eman accompanied by his deputy, Imam Anshori Saleh, and members of KY, among others Taufiqurrohman S, Suparman Marzuki, and Ibrahim.
Leadership of DPD accepted the leadership / members of KY whom asking for support in the framework of the revision of Law No. 22 of 2004 on the Judicial Commission. Revisions of Law on KY conducted in the first quarter of this year together with other draft law. As well as other agendas with DPD in the framework of public understanding about their rights to obtain justice.
