The Working Meeting of Committee I of DPD RI Discussed the Administrative Population Issues

Sub sector duty I of Committee I DPD RI held a working meeting to discuss issues of administrative population by inviting experts Dr. Sumarijati Arjoso and Prof. Prijono Tjiptoherijanto on Monday (31/1/2011) in the Committee I Meeting Room building B of Senayan Complex.

The Law of Administrative Population (Adminduk) is intended to provide protection and recognition to all Indonesian Citizen (WNI), both located in Indonesia and outside Indonesia or foreign citizens (WNA) residing in the territory of Indonesia.

“Manifested in the form of population documents that have the force of law as a means of authentic evidence, such as birth certificates, ID cards,” said Dr. Sumarijati Arjoso which is also a Member of DPR RI.

I Wayan Sudirta, SH (DPD RI Senator from Bali) argued, “that often laws are made, but it is difficult to obtain, don’t let the implementation of Law No. 23 Year 2006 on Adminduk is too. “

“Some of the challenges ahead for the Legislature, including the need for appropriate legislation, the regional and international cooperation, the reactivation of the parliamentary forum for the population, while for society as a counterweight policy, creativity growers, innovation and ideas as well as supervision and active participation,” explained Prof. Prijono Tjiptoherijanto from the Faculty of Economics, University of Indonesia.
