“Greetings sport!” that was how Andi Malarangeng, Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora), eagerly greeted all senators of the Committee III DPD RI when starting the sessions of exposure in the Work Meeting event (Raker) Committee III by the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KEMENPORA) in GBHN Room, Nusantara V, Senayan – Jakarta, Monday (2/7/2011).

In the event, Malarangeng did not forget to show the new uniform of KEMENPORA with red and white color. According to him, the red-white color selection is because KEMENPORA has the duty to hoist the red and white in the International arena as well as taking part for the future.

“Preparing leaders for the future,” he said followed by standing ovation of the participants. Malarangeng further explained that in sport the Indonesian nation is talking about the red-white where in those contexts there should be no discrimination about the party, religion, ethnic origin, race, especially the club where someone plays.

In that intimate meeting, Malarangeng also explained the Main Duty and Function (Tupoksi) KEMENPORA; The priority program of KEMENPORA 2011 in the area; Implementation of the Law. 3 Year 2005 on National Sport System in relation to coaching and athlete performance improvement / potential athletes and welfare / security for old age athletes; Policy philanthropy of corporate taxation for coaching athletes through the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Discussion Operational Preparation for Sea Games 2011.

Not to forget DPD RI expressed its appreciation for all the efforts to increase the participation and the active youth role in the region in the field of Youth and Sport and expected KEMENPORA to consistently implement the provisions of Article 86 of Law No. 3 Year 2005 on the mandate of the National Sport System to the Government to give awards and (or) old age insurance for athletes and coaches who excel and seeking partnership with the Ministry or other related institutions through the signing of the MoU in giving awards and (or) the old age insurance.
