Cooperative From, By and For Members
At noon, the Committee IV held the RDPU with the Director General of Community and Village Development, the Ministry of Home affairs of the Republic of Indonesia to discuss the Bill on Cooperation, chaired by the Chairman of Committee IV DPD RI, Prof.Dr.Jhon Pieris, SH., MH (DPD Senator from Maluku), in Committee IV meeting room on the 2nd, Building B DPD RI, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday (07/02/2011).
Dr.Ayip Muflich (Director General of Community and Village Development) explained that as the draft Bill that contains 15 Chapters and 124 articles, more than its half set about Savings and Loans Cooperative. Regarding to the cooperative source of funds of the principal savings, compulsory savings, voluntary savings that have been rooted in the community, the Bill is not used but it is replaced with entry fees and cooperative stocks. In this Bill, there is the status of an extraordinary member, because of concern of any deviation Director General suggested that “on the status of cooperative membership that is identical to the status of candidate members, it should be abolished and advised to uphold the cooperative which is from, by and for members” he firmly said.
In conclusion, the RDPU is intended to get input from various sources so that it can accommodate the aspirations of communities and regions to make a better cooperation Bill.
