DPD RI Conducted an MoU with the University of Indonesia
DPD RI implemented the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the cooperation with the University of Indonesia (UI) on Wednesday (12 / 1) at Gedung Nusantara V, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta. The signing was done by the Chairman of the DPD, Irman Gusman, accompanied by Vice-Chairman of the DPD, La Ode Ida, and Vice-Chairwoman of the DPD, Gusti Kanjeng Ratu Hemas. While from UI the signing was done by UI Rector, Prof. Dr. der Soz. Gumilar Rusliwa Somantri, accompanied by Prof. Chandra Wijaya (Chairman of the Graduate Program) and Prof. Ronny Nitibaskara.
“This MoU is aimed to enhance support skills and assessment of various problems in implementating the constitutional duties of DPD RI, as well as enhancing the competence of human resources,” said Irman.
Irman said that the scope of this agreement included the implementation of scientific activities, discussions, seminars and workshops. Then, what is more important in this cooperation is the implementation of research also policy and law. “This collaboration is important to give academic weight in the performance of duties and authorities of DPD in collaboration with experts and academics in the UI environment to assess, investigate and follow up the strategic issues that took place in the area,” said Irman further.
Meanwhile in his speech, Gumilar realized that this MoU is very important especially in relation to the duties, functions and roles of UI in developing the nation and country. “We realize that DPD has a noble task to bring people’s aspirations, the people of Indonesia and the region in building a developed and prosperous regions in a frame building of NKRI. That is why we are moved to support the tasks and roles of DPD through this important partnership,” said Gumilar.
