The chairman of DPD RI and the leaders of DPD RI Fittings confirmed all the complete results that had been achieved by the DPD RI. Much has been achieved and the DPD was determined to solve the problems of the nation and the Indonesian people directly on the substance, not a mere political rhetoric.

DPD in 2010 was successfully completed 50 products of proposed legislation in the form of draft legislation (the Bill) as well as opinions and views, it has increased from the previous year which only 47 products.

One of the DPD settlement efforts directly on the substance of issues is in relation to the crime that struck the Indonesian migrant workers (TKI) in foreign countries.
Chairwoman of Committee III DPD, Istibsyaroh, mentioned that DPD not only want the responsibilities of a crime that struck the workers are borne by the offender alone. But also, there must be strong actions from governments toward the companies that send the TKI.

“Offenders must be punished. He said that DPD had asked the government, in this case the Minister of Labour, not to permit the sending of Indonesian migrant workers (TKI) to countries that have not signed the memorandum of understanding with Indonesia. He asserted that in the case of torture of Indonesian migrant workers (TKI) by the citizens of Saudi Arabia is the government’s fault because Saudi Arabia has not signed the memorandum of understanding with Indonesia related to the Indonesian migrant workers (TKI).

During the event, also mentioned about cabinet reshuffle and other things related to DPD performance like DPD proposed for the direct election of governors is appointed by the president, but vice-governor elected by the people through parliament.
