The Meeting of Vice-Chairman of Sector I, Dr.Laode Ida, with DPR of Papua and Papuan People’s Assembly also DPRD West Papua Province are preceded by the conveyor as well as leaders of the session by the Vice Chairman of Sector I DPD RI, Dr. Laode Ida at the meeting room of committee I on the 2^nd floor, building B DPD RI, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday (13/10).

John Ibo, Chairman of the House of Papuan Representative (DPR Papua) states that the DPR of Papua and DPRD of West Papua had agreed on a change in nomenclature Raperdasus that originated from the draft Law of Province (Raperdasi) and based on PP No.54 of 2004 on the Papuan People’s Assembly term of office will end on October 31, 2010, together with the end of MRP’s term of office it is decisively prepared a new election of MRP members and its procedure of election. DPR of Papua and DPRD of West Papua agreed to extend the term of office until January 2011 MRP, also with regard to financing.

John Ibo is hoping for support on that matter toward the DPD RI as quoted “we request for the assistance of DPD RI to strengthen our position regarding the extension of the MRP members in the period of 2005-2010 toward the central government to approve our struggle” he said.

Meanwhile, Dimianus Idji,Vice Chairman of DPRD West Papua states that the specialty of Papua Special Autonomy is that they have the Papua’s People Assembly, and Governor and Deputy Governor of Indigenous Papuans, while others continued to carry out sectoral laws in the other.

At that meeting Dr. Laode Ida affirmed that the DPR of Papua and DPRD of West Papua are already agreed, therefore the DPD RI will support and fight for it up to the Central Government, with follow-up on Monday, which will be held a meeting between the Minister of Home Affairs with the DPR of Papua, DPRD of West Papua, the Governor and the DPD RI. Before the meeting is closed,Vice Chairman of Sector I submit a report to rearrange the central and local authority relationship in the framework of unitary Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) on the PAPUA OTSUS implementation problems from DPD RI to the DPR of Papua, the DPRD of West Papua and Secretary of Papua.
