The Government Are Expected To Monitor All Volcanoes

Chairman of the House of Regional Representatives (DPD), Irman Gusman hoped the Government, especially its related agencies, monitoring all volcanoes in Indonesia, both active and inactive. “Because Sinabung mountain which deemed inactive suddenly remove smoke and lava unexpectedly,” Irman revealed after opening the DPD plenary session at Nusantara V Building, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Friday (3 / 9). Its agenda was report progress on implementation of tasks of each DPD’s organs and DPD groups in the People’s Consultative Assembly also the ratification of the DPD’s decision.

On August 29th, 2010 morning, Sinabung mountain in Karo District, North Sumatera, erupted after since the year 1600 or during the 410 years of inactivity. On August 30th, 2010 morning, it was spitting out volcanic ash black. Furthermore, September 3rd, 2010 morning, Sinabung spewed the largest eruption than previously.

Tens of thousands of people were evacuate, even the Ministry of Social Affairs noted that the number of refugees were 27,472 people. August 30th, 2010 afternoon, Irman and several Senators of DPD delivered aid “DPD Cares” worth 50 million Rupiahs for refugees. “Me and some Senators of DPD spontaneously were visiting and seeing up close,” explained Irman (Senator of DPD from West Sumatera).

On the occasion, Chairman of the “DPD Cares” Rahmat Shah (North Sumatera) expressed his willingness to receive private donations from Senators of DPD and partners of the Senators as an additional aid “DPD Cares”. “Please be submitted directly to our room, we will immediately distribute it.”
