The House of Regional Representative of the Republic of Indonesia (DPD RI) held the 5th plenary of First Session Period in Session Year 2010-2011 in Nusantara V Building, Parliament Complex, Senayan Jakarta, Tuesday morning (26/10). Session was chaired by the Chairman of the DPD, Irman Gusman, accompanied by Vice-Chairman of the DPD, Laode Ida and Gusti Kanjeng Ratu Hemas. Agenda of this session, include: 1. Report development of tasks fittings; 2. Ratification of the decision DPD RI; 3. Closing Speech of the First Session Period in Session Year 2010-2011.

Progress report on Committee I implementation of tasks was submitted by the Chairman of Committee I, Dani Anwar. In its progress report, there were 3 things that was conveyed which was about the preparation of the proposal Initiative Bill, the result of working visit and the land issue. In the task of preparing the proposal Initiatives Bill, Committee I tried to do another discussion about the Bill on the Special Region of Yogyakarta, the Bill on Civil Service, the Bill on Local Government and the Bill on Election.

Development of Committee II implementation task was submitted by the Vice Chairman of Committee II, Budi Doku reported on the preparation of the proposal Initiative Bill toward the Bill on the Marine, the Bill on Oil and Gas and the Bill on the road. In his presentation, Budi Doku conveyed some input related to the Marine Bill. “In managing the sea, it needs to consider the social, economic and cultural community to improve the potential of marine. It should also pay attention to marine ecosystems due to the environment in the field of marine activities, “said Budi Doku.

Progress reports of Committee III was submitted by Istibsyaroh (Chairman of Committee III). In the First Session Period , Committee III has scheduled a meeting with two (2) Ministry which are the Minister of Social Affairs and Minister of Health of Indonesia. The Working Meeting with the Minister related to the Bill on Social Security Organizing Body (BPJS).

Furthermore, the reports of Committee IV on the implementation task was submitted by Abdul Gafar Usman (Vice-Chairman of Committee IV). The Committee IV submitted the Decision Draft of DPD RI on Aspirations Fund for Accelerating Regional Development.

Closing the First Session Period, Irman Gusman said that the activity in the Region will begin on October 27 – November 21, 2010 while the period of Second Session will begin on November 22 to December 17 2010. “We need to remind you that the period of the Second Session is very short, all members are expected to be able to utilize the time effectively and efficiently. We expect the members to give priority to the problems in a society that gives the social, economic, political and cultural order and significantly disrupt the stability of society and regions. Before closing the session, we need to remind you that the 6th plenary session will be held on November 22, 2010 with the report agenda for the DPD senators activity in the constituency, “said Irman closing the First Session Period.
