President and Vice President Meet With 7 Heads of State Institutions

Jakarta, October 19, 2010 – President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Vice President Boediono held a meeting with leaders of state high institutions on Monday (18/10) at 10.00 am in MPR Leaders Delegation Room, MPR / DPR / DPD Building, Jakarta. Agenda of the meeting was to discuss the actual issues at this time, associated with the pillars of the nation such as Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution, Unity in Diversity (Bhineka Tunggal Ika), and the Unitary Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).

This meeting is the initiative of MPR RI’s leadership. Previously, a similar meeting has been held in the Jakarta State Palace and in Bogor Palace, this meeting is the third time. Besides Taufik Kiemas, it was also attended by Vice Chairman MPR RI Ahmad Farhan Hamid, Hajrianto Tohari, Melani Leimena Suharli and Lukman Hakim Syaefuddin. From the ranks of DPR RI presented by DPR RI Chairman Marzuki Alie, Deputy Speaker of DPR Pramono Anung, Priyo Budi Santoso, Anis Matta and Taufik Kurniawan. From DPD RI presented by Chairman of the DPD RI Irman Gusman and Vice Chairman of DPD RI Laode Ida and GKR Hemas.

From the state of high institution presented by the Constitutional Court Chairman Mahfud MD, Commissioner of the Judicial Commission Busyro Muqqodas, Supreme Court Chief Justice Arifin Tumpa up to the Chairman of the Supreme Audit Agency Hadi Purnomo. Meanwhile, from the ranks of United Indonesia Cabinet Ministers of Volume II there are Coordinating Minister for the Economy Hatta Rajasa, Coordinating minister for the People’s Welfare Sector Agung Laksono, Minister of Cabinet Secretary and Minister of State Secretary Sudi Silalahi.

On that occasion, the Chairman of DPD RI Irman Gusman conveyed his perspective. “It seems there are similarities in perspective between all of us. That the national goals stated in the Preamble of the 1945 Constitution would be achieved best when we all have the perspective and the same spirit, “said Irman.

Irman Gusman who represented the institution of DPD RI gave attention to five important issues, including on the implementation of regional autonomy and decentralization, on the management of Natural Resources, on the national stability and security of citizens, on the target Millennium Development Goals (MDG’s), as well as on the improvement of state administration system.
