Jakarta, October 27, 2010 – Chairman of the House of Regional Representative of RI Irman Gusman with Vice President Boediono and the entourages departed from Halim Perdana Kusumah air base on Wednesday (27/10) at 08.00 am. Sikakap Village is a point location of the tsunami which will be observed. Apart from visiting refugees, they also handed over the emergency logistics.

Besides Irman Gusman, the members of the entourage, who went with Beodiono with quite a lot of state aircraft, were Coordinating Minister for People’s Welfare Sector Agung Laksono, Minister of Social Affairs Segaf Salim Al Jufri, Minister of Public Works Djoko Kirmanto and Minister of Health Sri Endang Sedyaningsih. Were also in the group is a former Head of BRR Aceh-Nias, Kuntoro Mangkusubroto (now chairman UKP4).

Upon arrival at Minangkabau International Airport Padang, it was scheduled to directly hold meetings with the Governor of West Sumatra. On the occasion, it will be presented details of emergency response measures that have been and will be held in the Mentawai. Around 12:30 pm, the entourage will go to Sikakap. Three helicopter units were put up for their riding. Because of the limited transport capacity, not all members of the entourage who departed from Jakarta will participate. The entourage returned to Padang approximately 15.00 pm and immediately proceeded with the flight to Jakarta.

At least 113 people were killed in the earthquake and tsunami on Monday (25/10). The 3-7 meter-high tsunami was the cause of many deaths compared with 7.2 magnitude quake which occurred at 21:40 pm.
