Chairman of DPD, Irman Gusman Inaugurated DPD Office of North Sulawesi in Manado

Chairman of the House of Regional Representatives (DPD), Irman Gusman inaugurated the DPD office in Manado, North Sulawesi, as the capital of North Sulawesi, on Thursday (7 / 10). Establishment of DPD office which was inaugurated is one of the 33 DPD offices in the provincial capital in Indonesia in accordance with the provisions of Law Number 27 Year 2009 on the MPR, DPR, DPD, and DPRD.

Law 27/2009 mandates the establishment of DPD office in the provincial capital, because Article 227 paragraph (4) states, in carrying out their functions, duties and authorities so that the senators of DPD have an office in the provincial capital. Reaffirmed, Article 224 paragraph (2) states senators of DPD do meetings with local government, the Regional of Representatives (DPRD), and element of society in their election district.

It is expected that the presence of DPD office in the provincial capital will further clarify the patterns of interaction between senators of DPD and stakeholders, especially their constituents and local government. Thus, the implementation of the functions, duties and authorities of DPD through local people’s aspirations absorption will create harmonious relationship between central and local.

The inauguration of DPD office in Manado, North Sulawesi was also along with working visit of Chairman of DPD for two days in North Sulawesi. Together with the entourage were a leader and member of the Committee I DPD and Committee II DPD also Secretary-General of DPD, Siti Nurbaya Bakar and Deputy Secretary-General of DPD Djamhur Hidayat.

The first day, Wednesday (6 / 10) morning, Chairman of DPD accompanied by four senators of DPD from North Sulawesi (Aryanthi Baramuli Putri, Marhany Victor Poly Pua, Ferry FX Tinggogoy, Alvius Lomban) met the Governor of North Sulawesi Sinyo Harry Sarundayang in the Office of Governor, Jl. 17 Agustus No. 69, Manado. After the meeting, leaders and members of the Committee I DPD and Committee II DPD did the deepening to the related work unit area (SKPD).

At noon, the Chairman of DPD visited Bitung city, Tribune Manado editorial office, Jl Alexander Andries Maramis, Manado, and TVRI Manado station Jl Tikala, Manado. In TVRI Manado studio, Irman became a speaker in the talk show themed “Acceleration Regional Development” with the Governor of North Sulawesi, Rector of Sam Ratulangi University, Donald A Rumokoy and senators of DPD from North Sulawesi.

At night, Irman met with a range of Regional Leadership Deliberation (Muspida) North Sulawesi, Governor of North Sulawesi, Commander of Korem (Danrem) 131/Santiago, Main Naval Base Commander (Dan Lantamal) VIII Manado, Head of Regional Police (Polda) North Sulawesi , Chairman of the Regional of Representatives (DPRD) of North Sulawesi, and the Head of High Attorney (Kejati), North Sulawesi.

The second day, Thursday (7 / 10) morning, Chairman of DPD inaugurated the DPD Office of North Sulawesi. Arriving at the location, the entourage was welcomed by Cakalele dance, a typical Mollucas war dance that is now often performed in welcoming guests. The inauguration was marked by the withdrawal fabric cover of DPD office name followed by ribbon cutting which accompanied by Manado’s bamboes music and Kolintang, Manado’s traditional music also Maengket dance, an original dance from Minahasa as a thanksgiving to The Creator.
