Working Visit of The Committee III of The House of Regional Representatives Republic of Indonesia

The Working Visit of Committee III member of DPD RI to the Hajj boarding house in Pondok Gede and Bekasi was represented by Ahmad Jajuli, Pardi, Sulistyo, Lalu Supardan, Carolina Nubatonis Kondo, Maria Goreti also Herlina Murib in order to review the readiness of Hajj operation in 2010, Monday (11/10).

Committee III DPD RI delegation chaired by Ahmad Jajuli, Hi., S.IP. (Senators of DPD from Lampung Province) provide inputs on the issue of Hajj Law, and on that occasion, the group get feedback from the Officers of Hajj Operator (PPIH) related to the implementation of pilgrimage in 2010. The feedback is expected to increase the quota limit for Year 2011 and there is a clarity and certainty on the restrictions of candidates. In this year’s hajj the certainty has not been realized, as the limited time given by the officer of PPIH in the management plan of the Hajj, while the Kakanwil said that there is a change of time for those international passport changes in a very urgent time.

On that occasion, Senators of Committee III DPD RI reviewed the means and facilities for the Hajj boarding house such as the dorm rooms, the catering and also the dining room for the prospective pilgrim. Indeed, there are still many shortcomings that need to be repaired but at least they did not become barriers for the potential pilgrims. The existence of other constraints such as lack of capacity building has resulted in the insufficient of dormitory capacity for prospective pilgrims, while to build building facilities is constrained by high prices of the land around the building to be released, with prices of 4 million dollars permeter, therefore the dorm had difficulty in land acquisition budgeting.

The pilgrims committee faced many difficulties due to many pilgrims who have not followed the rituals of pilgrimage since it should be held well before the implementation of the pilgrimage, with the increasing number of quota in 2010, the kloter settings which initially was 16 kloter is now become more numerous. Pardi (DPD Senator from DKI) asserted his desire to optimize the implementation of budgetary subsidy for hajj, including meal expenses for Hajj is better allocated to rental Maktab (boarding / lodging) which is closer to the venue for pilgrimage.
