6 Years Reflection of DPD RI
In order to commemorate the 6th years of age, the House of Regional Representative of the Republic of Indonesia held a “6 Years Reflection of DPD RI” with the theme “Optimizing the Function of DPD RI To Public Welfare Region” in the Lobby of DPD RI Parliament Complex Senayan on Friday (10/01). The event was also attended by Former Chairman of DPD RI, Ginandjar Kartasasmita.
Chairman of DPD RI Irman Gusman in his speech said, the presence of DPD RI in the first period of 2004-2009 has resulted in 196 products covering 19 proposals decisions bill (Bill), 92 views and opinions, seven considerations, 49 results of supervision, and 29 decisions related to both the budget and consideration of the Draft State Budget (RAPBN) also notes to the supervision of the implementation of the results of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK). Then, in the second period on the first year (2009-2014), he said, the DPD RI has produced 39 products consisting of, one proposed bill, 19 views and opinions, 15 results of DPD RI’s supervision, as well as four considerations associated with DPD RI’s budget .
Irman Gusman acknowledged, during six years of the existence of the House of Regional Representatives in performing its duties are still not optimally absorbed and accommodated the aspirations of local communities. “For six years of the existence of DPD RI, there are still many people who hope that DPD RI are capable of performing functions and duties optimally with the authority given to the constitution”, he said.
Senator of DPD RI from West Sumatera province urged that DPD RI should better accommodate regional aspirations and at the same time giving greater role to the regions in national policy-making process, especially policies related to regional interests.
