SPECIAL ALLOCATION FUNDS OF EDUCATION INAPROPRIATE WITH ITS NEED
SERANG-BANTEN, The Special Allocation Funds (DAK) in the field of education that are inappropriate with local and school needs, become one of a growing issue in the Working Visits (Kunker) Committee III DPD RI in Banten Province. Head of Education Department of Lebak Regency, Drs. Ade Nurhikmat states that many of funding from central government that is inappropriate with local and school needs. “For example there are schools that provided with laboratory equipment, while there is no laboratory space,” he said. Lebak Regency got DAK for Rp.63 billion and earmarked for the rehabilitation and addition of classroom space last year. Meanwhile Endang Suhendar, Head of Education Department of Pandeglang Regency stated that the Special Allocation Funds which went into schools in Pandeglang devoted to improve the quality of school. Whereas the more necessary, that are on the construction and renovation of damaged schools. “There are many schools in Pandeglang need physical renovation”, he added. In addition, the Committee III of DPD RI in working visit (Kunker) to Banten province also tried to explore and accommodate the problems related with the National Examination (UN). Sulistyo M.pd., Chairman of Committee III DPD RI.”DPD RI consistently rejected the UN implementation up till now. Because it is a bit strange if in the vary conditions among regions, but the government wants to equate the graduation with UN standard”, he added. This working visit was intended to seek input and aspirations of the community in general, and particularly from the Department of Education, Teacher, Principal and protégé in Banten province to be discussed in a working meeting with the Minister of National Education next March. “On March 2nd, we will hold working meeting with Minister of National Education”, added Sulistyo. Dialogue and working visit (Kunker) of Committee III of DPD on Saturday (20/2) held in SMAN 1 Warunggunung Lebak Regency, SMPN 3 and SDN Pandeglang 3 and 4 Pandeglang. On Sunday (21/2), the Entourage attended the education seminar conducted by the Regional Board of Indonesian Teachers Association (PGRI) Banten Province in Cooperative Civil Servants Hall, Serang, Banten. In the seminar, welfare issues, certification and quality improvement and teacher quality submitted by teachers. “The government will raise the welfare of teachers with professional support and certification process in gradually. It started from the civil service teachers (PNS) and permanent teacher at the private school. And all will be completed until the year 2014. Next Monday (22/2) the delegation is scheduled to be received by the Governor of Banten, Ratu Atut Chosiyah in Governor’s office (Kegubernuran). The entourage of Committee III chaired by Abdi Sumaithi (Senator of DPD RI Banten Province), Sulistyo (co-ordinator and Chairman of Committee III DPD RI from Central Java province), Maimanah Umar (Riau), KH. Sofyan Yahya (West Java), Lalu Supardan (NTB), Aidil Fitrisyah (South Sumatera), Prof. Istibsyaroh (East Java), Emma Yohana (West Sumatera), Herlina Murib (Papua), Pardi, SH (Jakarta), Habib Hamid Abdullah (South Kalimantan) and Muhammad Afnan Hadikusumo (DIY). Besides education, working visit (Kunker) of Committee III DPD RI in Banten province will accommodate the aspirations of the people related with tourism, Religion, Health, Youth and Manpower. The working visit (Kunker) will be implemented from February 19th to 23rd, 2010.
